Delos Colvin Ransom handmade copper vase with wrought lip and applied brass hearts. Ransom was born in Los Angeles, California in 1913 and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He studied two years at Whitman College and graduated in Architecture and Design from University of Michigan. Following graduation, he taught manual arts including woodworking and jewelry making at his former high school, Lewis & Clark, in Spokane. Very little is known about this artist’s work, but this piece is particularly handsome and well made. Original finish with some light verdigris. Signed with impressed “Solid Copper, Entirely Handmade, Delos C. Ransom” under base, circa 1930s-1940s. 7.5”h x 6.5”w x 3.5”d. $395.
